The Apple House

Really well located for York centre and restuarants etc - 5 minutes walk. Good access from road and rail, and ample car parking. Friendly and welcoming. Only downside was the bed was a bit old and hard, but OK for one night!

The hotel was easy to find, had good parking and we were greeted personally as we pulled in. The owners are very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is very convenient for central York and the railway station, with a bus stop right outside.
We'll definitely be coming back if we visit York again!

This was a very good B&B. The room was a good size for a single person although it might have been a bit cosy for two (it had twin beds in it). It was clean and cleaned properly for my second day and more towells were left, even though I had not asked for them. The breakfast was very nice and catered for vegetarians. Although it was only a 10/15 walk to town, there was a very useful bus service (the Blue Line No 1) which stopped just outside for when you had walked too much. The landlady, Pam, was very friendly and helpful. My only (very minor) quibbles are that there were only the terrestial channel TV (most of which had football on because it was the start of the European Championship) and I could not get the DVD that was fitted into the TV to work. Also it would be nice to have a soap dish at shoulder level in the shower. I would stay here again and recommend it to other people.

I can highly recommed the Apple House for a stay. It is very clean and comfortable, the breakfast is excellent, and the time can suit you if like me you are an early riser. Pam is a great host, always very helpful and cheerful. Also a great location with good restaurants and pubs within a few minutes walk. Car parking was a huge bonus, though I would say that if you are using a sat nav be warned that it will get you to the post code and not the actual house but it's easy enough to find from there.
