Braemount House

The location is good, the room large, bit tired and could do with redecorating. The guy who owns it is lovely but his wife/partner was surley, rude and offesive - Her request to me to order a cooked breakfast was"If you can fit any more in what can I get you?" As we left she shouted up the stairs to her husband that "That annoying idiot has been on the phone again". It's just not what you want and to be fair she spoit an otherwise brilliant break. My advise - try somewhere else.

A little difficult to find as off the main thoroughfare but the advantages of that location quickly became apparent as the hotel is situated in a quiet and peaceful setting ~ pleasant garden with seating available. Sufficient off-road parking on the hotel site. Tea/coffee and cake to welcome us and very polite and obliging owners and staff. Huge bed with option for singles or double ~ however size of bed does eat into the room space. A shower that worked!! Lots of information about what to do and see locally. Hotel is quiet with a pleasant ambiance. Certainly would return.

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It was great and a lovely friendly place to stay. We will definately be going back, however we will be booking direct with the hotel as we were informed that we could have had this stay £30 cheaper had we done this in the first place.

Lovely house with extremeley high quality rooms. Great customer service & delicious breakfast - the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon is a must! The location was perfect for what we wanted - 1/2 mile between Windermere town & Bowness so all amenities (pubs, wide range of restaurants, lakes and shops) all just a ten minute walk away on either side. Oh, and definitely make use of the spa facilities whilst you're there!

Great house style B&B on the edge of Windermere. Host couldn't have done anything else for us. He was very friendly and helpful and gave us a choice of rooms.
