We stayed two nights on a leisure visit to B/mouth. The car parking was slightly problematic, as when we arrived, a thoughtful guest had used two spaces instead of one to park. That was resolved by the owner directing us across the road to her daughter's hotel where we could park easily enough until the other guest reparked. The room was very clean and just adequate in size, but en suite with shower only and curtain not door on that, which is a bit cramped, especially if you don't like the feel of a wet plastic curtain on your parts! The bed was standard size, the mattress comfortable, again large people will find that restricting if they are used to a queen/king size bed. The wardrobes were converted cupboards and the hanger rail faced towards you rather than across. There were chest of drawers though. The TV was a small portable one parked on the dressing table, with limited channels. We don't know how this room 8, compares to others in the hotel, so it might be useful to query the room details before booking. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the full english breakfast very good. Evening meals have to be booked in advance, but we never needed that service, so can't comment on quality etc. The Hotel is almost three miles away from Bournemouth centre in a quiet part of Boscombe and close to Boscombe's sea front, fine for families who want a beach holiday with no frills. We walked into Bournemouth the first evening, takes about 45 mins, but we had a taxi back. Expect to pay close to ten pounds one way these days not five as was previously stated in another review. The shed refered to in a previous review is in fact a smallish wooden chalet with amenities, the hotel owner uses it to accommodate those guests with small dogs. We would not want to stay in room eight, anything longer than a few nights, simply because of it's restricted amenities and size, however the price we paid was fairish value for money, but really this is B&B standard accommodation and not what we would class as a three star hotel standard. |
