We were greeted by a very cheerful young man who signed us in and gave us our room key. The room was very clean and warm. The Hotel is located above a late bar but there was very little noise from the bar clientelle. It was also not possible to hear the trains even though the railway line is right next to the hotel. On leaving we were again treated extremely courteously and the young man arranged a taxi for us which appeared within ten minutes of ordering. Would definitely stay at the Thomas James Hotel again. |

The hotel was a great location and we got upgraded to a 4 poster room rather than the standard double which we booked, which was a nice gesture. However half the lights in the room and the bathroom didn't work, so it was quite dingy and it was freezing cold, which took the edge off - I'd also have been disappointed if I booked and paid for a 4 poster room to begin with, because the bed was really uncomfy and other that the obvious addition of 4 posters to the frame, I couldn't see what else you would be paying more for. We got down to breakfast at 11am (it went on till 12pm) to find no staff, no clean tables, no coffee cups and not much food left, so we didn't bother... Great location though and our room at the very top was quiet, so if all you want is a place to sleep in central Leamington Spa it does the job. |

there was no-one to see us at breakfast time for our needs, the 2nd day at breakfast I found that the bread was mouldy and we asked the bar attendant if we could get some hot quasants but we got fed up of waiting, the tables were not cleaned down at all and dirty dishes were on most of the tables, we were not told on booking that there was so many flights of stairs to climb. which would have been impossible for someone elderly or disabled. And we found it very noisy which you obviously said it was it town and there could be some noise but it went on until early hours. The alarm clock in the room had obviously been set from the previous occupant to go off at 7.30 so we were awaken by the alarm on the first morning. I am sorry to say that it was not a good experience for us at all. |
