The aspect of my one night stay that I will remember longest is the outstanding attitude of the staff. Everyone at the hotel, from the receptionist through to the barman, waitress and even the maintenance man mending the main door, was extremely welcoming - this was more like being in the USA rather than the UK. I had a single room at the front of the hotel - good size, very well-appointed and spotlessly clean. Didn't eat dinner in, but the quality of the cooked breakfast showed that the chef worked mornings and didn't just leave breakfasts to some underling. Breakfast could be considered slightly expensive, but as I only paid £55 for the room this was an overall bargain.

Friendly and helpful staff and the hotel is in a good position in town although the parking is a problem. The staff do move the cars around if you need to move though. Parking on the road outside is plentiful. Very good appearance and high standard of house keeping. My room was a single so I expected small but as the furniture was rather large it made getting around the room a little difficult. Again the house keeping was to a high standard and my bed was made properly each day, not just the quilt fluffed up and thrown over. The bathroom was small but spotless but not a lot of storage for toiletries. Nice big bath sheets to. For a small hotel the gym was really good with a good range of equipment. Browns should make it clear though that the breakfast included is only the continental. I would stay at Browns again as my sdtay there was pleasant enough.

The entire staff were very warm and welcoming. The Restaurant was outstanding - highly recommended. With the exception of the room being a bit too small for us (we only booked a standard double so our own fault really) I cannot praise this hotel, its staff, its facilities and the food enough.
