The Old Station Inn

Giggleswick, Settle

The Old Station is a traditional family run Inn, open all year, with a lounge bar and real fire, a lovely dining room with fresh flowers, eight comfortable ensuite rooms including a delightful four poster room with beamed ceiling. We are renouned amongst both locals and guests for our warm welcome and friendly atmosphere. We serve freshly prepared, good quality food using local ingredients wherever possible, with a selection of satisfying homemade dishes, several vegetarian options and traditional home roasts on Sunday Lunchtimes. This year we are delighted to have achieved the Real Ale Cask Marque Award and the British Beer & Pub Association 'Beautiful Beer Gold Award'. We are in a beautiful countryside setting adjacent to the A65 less than one mile from Settle and the famous Settle - Carlisle Railway Station. Close to the challenging Yorkshire Three Peaks, Pen y Gent, Ingleborough and Wernside with many local attractions & activities in the area such as golf, fly fishing on the lovely River Ribble, falconry, cycling, walks from the doorstep and 16 miles from the market town of Skipton. We do not allow pets in our rooms and the pub and rooms are totally non smoking. Lively Folk Music nights are held on the third Wednesday of each month. Bank holidays: 2 night minimum booking.

We had a comfortable nights stay at the Old Station Inn. The owners were very accommodating and friendly and even dropped us off at the station when we couldn't get a cab. The room what quite small and basic but all we needed for a stop-over and the whole pub was a little tired and lacked atmosphere. We only ate breakfast which was lovely and well cooked.

We were on foot once friends had brought us by car to the hotel. Not ideally situated -- next to a main road and a mile out of town. But it is very close to a railway station, though the service is very infrequent, but we were able to get back to Leeds and then home to London from there. Otherwise absolutely fine.
