My room was number 1 outside the fire door to other rooms. Every time someone went through the fire door, the windows rattled and the noise was disturbing. There was only one plug so you couldn't use the bedside lamp and tv at the same time. The kettle didn't reach the plug from the table it was on so had to go on the floor! (lamp didn't work anyway). Couldn't read in bed cos had to use the main room light so book was in shadow and no ensuite which was not clear on late rooms site when I booked. Pity - bags of character and lovely setting ruined by the little things!!!

The breakfast was OK. The building and how it is run are both in need of a makeover. The room was poor, cold and drafty. Nearly all the floor boards creak.

I found this hotel to be very neglected and dated. There was only one member of staff as far as I could tell and she seemed to do everything! On arrival I had to wait 15mins before anyone appeared and then I was told that I should have rang the bell(which I had rung 3 times)!!!! The bed was so hard that I contemplated sleeping on the floor! All in all I was extremely disappointed in my stay and felt that £40 was too generous a price to pay! I had booked this hotel before reading the reviews which I bitterly regret doing.

I have unfortunately staying over some very cold nights and the room was cold (heating not throughout the night and big drafts in the room) also as I was having showers in the morning, the hot water runs out.
on a postive note, I left my ipod in my room when I checked out.. I called and they hold it and wait for me to call in during lunch time to collect it.
I have an associate who is staying with them at the moment and he is happy there.. I think there is a difference between a man and woman. we want different things.. for the price, it is ok.
another point that I like to point out is that on the website, there should be a note stating that there is a credit card surcharge and that should be stated. Otherwise it might cause a bit of problem if not prepared for it.
