Staying Cool @ Castlefield, Manchester

The people at stay cool were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Any questions were answered and we were helped out when needed. would definately return to stay there.

Great idea and a nice apartment spoilt by two failings.
1. The bathroom was very small and very different from the pictures on the advertising material - A real let down actually
2. We failed to get any hot water in the bathroom (tepid is the best description) despite using the 'boost' function on the water heater. That meant no bath and only a pretty quick shower was really feasible.
To be honest, we were disappointed - we stayed here instead of staying at the Lowry Hoteal which was available at the same price and it really didn't deliver. A pleasant enough apartment but for the money we could (and should) have got a lot more. it really didnt match its advertising.

The apartment itself was great, very trendy and funky, however... on initially booking, I was told i could collect the keys or have them posted to me. I opted to have them posted as I wouldn't be arriving until the evening and was sent an email from Staying Cool confirming my apartment address and the name and postal address to send the keys which was my place of work.
2pm on the check in day and still no keys. I phoned and was told the 2 girls who were dealing with my booking were off that day and there was only one person in the office who struggled to find my booking then told me the keys hadn't been sent!
We agreed the keys would be left at a bar round the corner for my collection instead.
I collected an envelope from the bar at 7.30pm... by the time I had got into my apartment it was almost TEN O'CLOCK! The envelope had only contained an apartment key and an underground carpark fob. What i hadn't been told is that the keys left for me were NOT for the apartment I had originally booked. I tried calling Staying Cool but got an answer machine with no out of hours number.
By the time I'd worked out where my apartment was (by knocking on residential apartments to ask advice) and realising it was in a different building down the road, I was then mortified to realise I hadn't been given a fob to gain access to the apartment block itself. I had to hang around for 20 minutes until a security guard doing the rounds finally let me in - and because i was going out that evening, I had to then ask him for his mobile phone number so I could phone him to come and let me back in again at 1 o'clock in the morning.
It was all a really stressful experience and when my other half complained about it all, i was offered a £10 refund, which I found rather insulting.
A total shame, because the apartment itself was fantastic.

The room wasn't excatly how we pictured it from the photo's on the website but never the less was still very good.
The coffee machine didn't wok and we didn't know how to work the hob. Where was the apartment guide?
