Really nice for couples...wonderful relaxed atmosphere, my wife booked this for my 40th! and what a treat it was. Had a 'Swedish Massage' wow!!!..walked around in a comfy dressing gown & bare feet, you're made to feel like your the only person staying there its wonderful service all day and night. No signal for mobiles really inside the building itself, but that fine...it is a proper retreat. I wouldn't bother going out to eat its £11 in a taxi to town and food is expensive. You may find it the case in the restaurant on site at Moddershall Oakes, but factor in £22 round trip to Hanley town centre in taxi fairs and poor to at best average food in some tacky looking and 'health questionable' restaurants, and Moddershall Oakes prices are more than justified considering the top quality food on offer, personal service and spotless kitchen and eating environment. We regretted going out of the luxury we had been given...please don't make the same mistake, stay on site a savoir what's on offer and know you are getting service far beyond what you are paying for enjoy! Ian Clydesdale. |

The room was lovely and the spa side of things was great, we had some great treatments.Everyone lounges around in their robes. There is a lovely lake to sit by and a pleasant woodland walk. On the downside we struggled to get loungers by the pool in the morning when it was busy and were disappointed by the evening meal. Also the breakfast was very poor with no cooked option and even though it was included they still try and charge for extras like cappucinos which considering they come from a machine should really be included. Also the cost of wine from the minibar was astronomical, bring your own! |

The overall hotel was very nicely decorated in a boutique style. the leisure facilities were first class and the staff helpful, friendly and polite. The grounds were very nicely kept with a lovely lake and woodland walk. The food was good if a tiny bit overpriced. i would certainly stay agian. |
