This is a lovely hotel situated within beautiful gardens. The hotel lies on the outskirts of Appleby which is a lovely and friendly town. The hotel is 5 minutes from the town by car but on a good day one can walk it. The rooms are well appointed however some of the rooms can be rather small. Bathrooms within the deluxe rooms are large with an integrated TV and jacussi bath.
The breakfasts are good with a varied menu and the staff are attentive. We did not partake of the evening meal as the menu was rather expensive even for a four star hotel and we ate at a local hotel where the food was excellent ,the staff attentive and the menu reasonably priced.
