Hotel Elysee Montparnasse

This was a lovely hotel. Recently modernised. The hotel was clean. Reception staff friendly and helpful. Good continental breakfast and agin friendly staff in the morning. Located close to Montparnasse, local tubes Montparnasse Bienvenue and Edgar Quinot are well placed for access to the whole of the city. We walked most days from the hotel to Notre Dame, takes about 30 mins depending on how many coffee stops you make!!! Located close to several bars and restaurants so dont need to venture far if you arrive late on the first night.Given Paris is hellishly expensive I thought the hotel well priced. Would return tomorrow.

We were initially concerned at the reviews previously posted for this hotel but we contacted them direct in advance of our arrival and were advised that the renovations were complete. Everything was better than expected. There is a new lift to all floors. The rooms are small but in Paris that is to be expected. The bathrooms, beds, bedding and carpets were all new. We asked for quiet rooms and thats what we got. Breakfast is basic but served by very plesent staff. The staff on reception both day and night have a very good command of English and nothing was too much bother. The hotel is on a very busy, narrow street witha mixture of shops, bars and restaurants and the whole area felt safe and up beat. The metro is within easy reach and the Montparnasse Tower acts as a great landmark from all directions for making your way back to the hotel.

Well presented hotel in a location with good connections.

We were really pleased with the quality and cleanliness of the hotel, we would definitely recommend to others. The area was a little unusual in that there were strange dvd shops.
