Very easy to get to, straight off the bus from the airport and across the road. Our room was very big and had plenty of space. Shower was extremely powerful!! Roughly a ten minute walk to temple bar and o connel street, if that, which provided easy access to the rest of the city via buses. |

Nice Hotel overall. Great central location. Reasonably quite, reasonably priced compared to others in the area and no complaints on the cleanliness. One gripe though that's left an impression though. As the saying goes; first impressions last! On arrival our booking couldn't be found by the unhelpful and unfriendly man at reception and we were told/asked to print the booking confirmation we had received. We were directed to the computer in the lobby which required us to pay to gain internet access. When I asked the receptionist if we were required to pay for this he confirmed that we were. First time I've ever had to pay an additional sum to check into a hotel! The PC swallowed three times the amount displayed, then wouldn't print the confirmation. Luckily a professional member of staff happened along, allowed us to use her office PC and with a smile refunded the money spent on the internet. She processed the check-in efficiently and with the courtesy we would expect. Situation resolved and hotel reputation saved. I was frustrated and angry at the manner in which we were originally greeted. Don't know if the original guy was having a bad day... but as we and his more professional colleague knew, there was no excuse for his manner or attitude. Asking customers to jump through hoops and pay for the priviledge isn't acceptable, especially given that there were rooms available despite him not being able to find our booking. Despite this we found the hotel to be comfortable (if not a little too warm) and the rest of the staff were very friendly. |

Although the location was perfect - for access to trams, buses, taxis - and walking in general into town - the hotel seemed a bit unfinished... and didn't live up to the hype... On first appearance the hotel room appeared large and clean - but then we found a) a large cracked tile on the bathroom floor that seemed to rock in various directions when you stood on it b) the TV aerial had been pulled out of the wall, leaving the connection in the wall - and open fuses sticking out of the cable... and c) the ceiling let water in, which made loud 'dripping' noises through the night... don't know about the food - didn't stick around long enough to try it. |
