Even though I need to be in Manchester for business, I choose to travel back and for to this hotel. I have stayed many times at this hotel and intend to stay whenever I visit M/C. It is very relaxing to stay here, staff always make you feel welcome and are most helpful. The food is exceptional, location is off the beaten track and yet close to the motorways. It is imacculately clean, Although a little expensive I feel well worth the extra money. Sometimes you can get a deal from Late rooms so look out for that. Ps. The execitive room worth the extra. PPs Thanks Late rooms for free champers it was lush!

Hotel is currently being re-furbished which may account for some of the issues but in general the service is not very attentive and the overall standards not up to the price being charged. I chose to have a bar meal rather than eat in the main restaurant. Had to wait for someone to come and serve a drink at the bar and then was told that the kitchen had no tagliettele that night (one of only five main courses on offer). The soup was OK but the burger I chose instead was inedible. Apparently the chef makes them himself and it was the mustard that gave it a strange taste but it was without doubt the worst burger I've tasted. To be fair the manager handled the complaint well and i wasn't charged for it. Breakfast was very average and the service somewhat erratic.
