This was the 4th Hotel I had stayed in during a 2 week business trip. This was by far the worst. It is in desperate need of refurbishment as the wallpaper in my room was peeling off the walls and everything was dated. |

The Swallow Hilltop is an icon of the 1970's which has not moved on. The bedrooms and public areas of the hotel are looking very tired. The leisure club has been recently refurbished, and facilities are of a good quality. The buffet breakfast is the usual fare, served in bain maries - not fantastic, but acceptable. |

The one good thing about this hotel is its value for money. For £60 per night, it's not too bad. The staff, although helpful, can be tricky to get a hold of, and the waiter could do with some tips about being visually aware of his diners (surely one of the basics). But, all in all, it served its purpose to a not to fussy guest. |

On arrival we were disappointed with the shabbiness of the hotel which is undergoing refurbishment. Our disappointing room was soon changed to one that had been refurbished (except the bathroom) and was clean and comfortable. The hotel staff however were brilliant and made our stay enjoyable. When booking request "Upper north rooms" |
