Holiday Inn Plymouth

I don't expect to have to queue for 20 - 25 minutes for breakfast (both mornings) with stressed staff & uncleared tables.
Parking was on a first-come-first-served basis & totally inadequate for the number of rooms in the hotel.
Due to rain, the main entrance was like a skating rink & particularly dangerous for children, the elderly & the disabled.
The lifts are entirely inadequate for the number of rooms - I frequently had to wait 3 - 5 minutes for a lift.
As a frequent visitor to Plymouth whilst my daughter is at the University, I can comparewith other hotels in Plymouth and the Holiday Inn doesn't rate 4 stars. I definitely don't intend staying here again & I will think twice before staying at any other hotel in the group.

At £145 for a twin room this hotel far from value fro money. The room was OK, the public areas basic and the restaurant very poor, the buffet breakfast came out of a packet or tin and the furniture was stained and dirty. I would not stay in or recommend this hotel and as a result would not book a Holiday Inn again.

Staff at reception were brilliant - friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was good.
Room was great in terms of cleanliness but was situated just outside the lifts, which meant there was a lot of noise.

I felt uncomfortable in the restaurant as a single woman. I was given a table for two and placed facing the window (which was obscured by condensation). There was a single man at the next table and we felt we had been placed in the 'singles section'. I asked to be moved so that I could face the room. this was met with some suprise but acquiescence. I had an appointment to keep and the food took ten minutes to come, although the restaurant was not busy on Saturday evening. The breakfast next day was not good - greasy spoon standard, tinned mushrooms, fatty cheap bacon. The reception staff were friendly and welcoming.
