Weston Manor Hotel

Northampton Road,Weston-On-The-Green, Oxford

Steeped in history and dating back to the 11th century, Weston Manor is a beautiful and unusual venue . The present Baronial Hall was the bailiffs court for the Abbott of Osney who owned the house before the dissolution of the monasteries by King Henry V111 in the 16th century.
Subsequently the great land owning families, the Earls of Abingdon and Berkshire - the "Norreys and Berties" resided at Weston Manor until the death of the last heir during the great war in 1917.
Renovated during the twenties and thirties by several families, Weston Manor was occupied during the second world war when it was used by the BBC as a dormitory for their staff.
The building was converted into a hotel in the late 1940's, and bought by its present owners, the Osborn family in 1983. Mr and Mrs Osborn pride themselves on the care and effort they have made to sympathetically restore the building and its grounds.
In addition we have 2 acres of tranquil gardens ideal for a quiet walk or team building, with Croquet lawn
Outdoor heated pool and a local Golf course

Only had breakfast which was excellent. The restaurant appeared pricey so went to the local pub which was excellent!
Beware of corporate guests who can be noisy and who can also dominate the hotel during the week. If you want to sleep don't ask for room 1 as this is directly over the bar and is noisy. Room 14 was at the top and overlooked the lovely gardens...and was quiet!

Difficult to answer as all services were not on offer the night we stayed (bar, food, room services, etc). General cleanliness was okay but the toilet was not spotless, underseat was yellowish and it moved about when used, and there was no shower. Room was unusual and elegantly furnished but looked jaded. Breakfast was okay (bacon tough and dry) I expected better as the place was meant to be noted for its food, and let's face it breakfast is easy yet, though there was only a few people there, it was nothing special, service at beakfast was excellent. Difficult to say if I would stay there again or recommend it, as it was dreadful weather, and the hotel felt like it was closed down, so little could be judged! It could be nice!

Room was in urgent need of re-decoration. Bathroom was grubby. stair rods on main staircase were insecure. Electrical appliances in room were PAT tested in 2006. Not a pleasant stay and extremely overpriced.
