During our stay there was an external problem with the gas mains therfore no hot water or hot food available but the staff done there very best with the continental breakfast which was made available. The hotel itself is very old fashioned and in need of refurbishment though its location is very central. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would stay there again but not for a long period, we stayed for two nights which was ok |

I personnaly found it all a little shabby. The staff were friendly enough, but in my room the shaver light above the basin was not working (someone should check this type of thing after each guest has left) The shower curtain was too short and of the wrong type for the rail installed. The flexible hose on the shower was too short for anyone other then of shal we say - 'medium height'. Two of the three lifts were out of action. Generraly the place had the look of hotel wher the proprietors were not prepared to invest some funds in order to provide good value for money. What a shame for what one can see was once a fine hotel by the look of the architecture and the fine staircase inside the building, |

The hotel was excellently placed in the centre of Glasgow and would have been a very grand and impressive place once. It is however now a litle 'tired' and this is not necessarily reflected in the price. The room I was given was shabby with one of the double glazed windows missing and the window not closing effectively making it noisy. The wallpaper was also stained and torn in places. The room had not been cleaned very well, hair in the hairdryer drawer, a half used shampoo in the shower, and I dont think this was unusual. Another guest was complaining of a dirty room when I checked out. Pity really as the place has potential. |
