We had a pleasant stay. The room was comfortable and adequate for our needs. Very friendly and helpful staff, especially on Reception desk. Very convenient for sightseeing York- Great to be able to leave the car and walk. Did not use pool ( which was very small) or gym since it always seemed to be quite busy. |

Given the excellent setting of the hotel, close to the centre but very quiet, and the lovely buildings, the decor was to say the least wierd; period decor for sure but pure 1970s! This was a bit offputting at first but you really couldn't fault the cleanliness or the friendliness of the place and we quickly started to warm to it. Then came breakfast. I just wish all hotels were as good. Excellent selection, quality and phenomenal service. Yes, it's quirky, but I suppose that's character and you have to love it in the end. |
