Located only a five-minute walk from the town centre and beaches and a 10-minute walk from Fistral Beach, Breaks combine the luxury of a hotel with the intimacy of a guest house. All our rooms are ensuite, some with wetrooms and have been individually designed and created featuring handmade furniture and individual pieces of art. Each room has flatscreen TVs with DVD players, you are welcome to choose from our extensive DVD library.
We offer contemporary accommodation for couples, that is run on an ecologically sound basis, using energy from renewable sources and environmentally friendly products.

We offer a full English breakfast, vegetarian option a speciality. We use locally sourced produce, organic where possible. speciality coffees, tea & lite bites.

Leave the A30 signposted to Newquay A392. Follow the brown signs to Fistral Beach from Quintrell Downs. Keep going until you pass a Texaco garage on the right. At the top of the hill take the second exit off the roundabout, still signposted to Fistral Beach. After the roundabout take the first right into Crantock Street. Breaks is 50m on your right.

Jan and Andy were out when we arrived and initially were not contactable on the mobile no shown on the door. However they returned our call within 5 mins and were back within 10. They made us very welcome. The chocolate with the towels was very nice. Very much for younger people, but although we were the eldest guests (neither of us will see 50 again (in my case 55)) we got on very well with the other guests. Very eco friendly. One slight quibble (that has been mentioned in previous reviews ) was that the bin had not been emptied. Generally a friendly welcoming establishment offering good value basic accomodation.

The room was of fair size with as I quote from their website an 'individually designed cabin style wet room'. In my opinion this looked like a few pieces of old wood which had been thrown together. There were hairs around the shower and in the sink.
To add to this the carpets in the room were badly stained. There was a rather unpleasant smell in the room (a mixture of damp as the extractor fan in the bathroom was not much use and stale food).
Even though we were staying on a bed and breakfast rate we refused to eat at the guest house as on checking in I noticed that there was a dog!
The photographs on the website are very deceiving. I would not recommend this hotel to anybody and I certainly won't be staying here again.

Delightful hostess and lovely breakfast. However, there was no off street parking, and our bed was not made or the room serviced during our stay. The room called Elands is not really big enough to be a double, and a bead curtain is not acceptable between the room and the en suite.
