directions from website on how to get to the hotel were great, hotel is only minutes from the minster and all the shops. Really modern decor- lovely rooms. If i had to say anything remotely critical (and to be fair it didnt affect me that much) the rooms were on the warm side and the tv reception wasnt that great! The only real downside was we didnt stay longer! Glad i booked! |

the hotel must have some very good rooms to make the cost over £100 for the cheapest room as i had a room that was just too small it realy was a room for the night not a week or a weekend for that matter. |

The Hotel was easy to find and just a short walk away from the city centre. We enjoyed our two night stay in this hotel and would stay here again. The staff were helpful and friendly but best of all they were English. |

Very handy for York centre with all furnishings and fittings of a high standard however our room had only just enough width for a bed and two small bedside tables. It was stuffy / airless with no air conditioning the one small window faced another similar bedroom, both of which needed to keep their windows open thus allowing voices/conversations to be heard across the small divide. The TV was not tuned in properly (double images / poor volume control) and no instructions as to which channels were available (fortunately we only wanted BBC 1 for a while and found it after several clicks). Closing mechanisim for the fire door in narrow passageway outside our door allowed the door to close noisely which was easily heard in our room, as were any conversations in the passage. LateRoom's booking invoice said breakfast was not included so we took the opportunity to breakfast up the road only to find on checking out that our rate was in fact for B & B .... this, compounded with another booking problem the day before at Stratford, will see us not using Late Rooms again. Did not complain about any of this to hotel management 'till we left; they were apologetic and doubtless would have taken steps to recitfy the TV & fire door problems but would have been unable to do anything about the airless room / poor sound proofing which were the principle problems for us and why we rate the hotel as having such a low "quality of your room" & "value for money". We stayed for two nights and York was very wet but great! |
