Directions to South Norfolk's Guest House, Oakbrook House
South Norfolk's Guest House, (Oakbrook House), Great Moulton, NR15 2HE found to the west of Long Stratton, and on the north-eastern edge of Great Moulton From the A140 travelling northbound, on entering the town of Long Stratton please take the left turn at the first set of traffic lights (Flowerpot Lane). (South bound you will pass a pedestrian crossing controlled by lights before the traffic lights where you turn right beside the Shell garage.) Signed to Wacton. From these lights Oakbrook is 2.4 miles along this road. The road has many corners and passes through the village of Wacton, keep on the through road, more bends, you enter the village of Great Moulton and 30mph sign, we are the first property on the right, go beyond the house and turn right and right again. If you find the Fox & Hounds Pub you have just gone by us. Travelling from the west (Attleborough) follow the B1077 pass the train station, signed Diss and then the B1134 signed The Pulhams. After several miles take a left just before the railway crossing, next to the Maltings Works. Follow this road through around bends, then right at the sign to the ‘village centre’; this will take you over the railway, keep going on this road around more bends don’t turn off, we are on the corner just past the Fox and Hounds. Please note Norfolk County Council only sign the next village, this can cause confusion to the visitor! If you find the Coronation Hall take the road opposite we are at the top of the lane just before a junction. Please note Satellite Navigation ~ Frith Way has 3 sections, we are the north section, on the Frith Way/Frost’s Lane junction. Programme your navigation to arrive via Long Stratton, Flower Pot Lane or via the B1134 Station Road Great Moulton/Aslacton otherwise you may use lanes that farmers use occasionally and locals avoid.

I arrived at the guest house at 9pm and was greeted by Simon the owner before I'd even dropped my luggage a cup of tea was offered, Great. After a long drive a nice comfortable lounge area to sit and relax while having my nice cup of tea. Comfortable room with a lovely view over the fields behind. The bed was comfortable and generally everything was clean and tidy. The breakfast was good and set me up well for my day's work. I only stayed the one night and therefore my review is of that period, but if I was working in the area again. I would certianly head for this nice and quiet out of town guest house. Worth the late rooms £35 for a single room as I still had a double bed. |
