Very friendly, lovely location, very nice bedrooms and public rooms (maybe just a little tired). The dining room extension was a bit off-putting (large and not too warm) but the views, food and staff attentiveness made up for that.

Staff were very friendly and we were made to feel very welcome. The five course dinner was well presented and very tasty and there was an excellent wine list. Breakfast was served at 8.30 a.m. which was a bit later than we would have wanted but the quality and quantity was first class.
We were allocated Roiom 1 which was rather dark and dreary. Itr was situated on the ground floor just inside the entrance and directly opposite the lounge / bar. Consequently it tended to be noisy at certan times of the day and there was little point in going to bed until after the bar had closed.

Fanatastic hotel. Chosen because of excellent reviews already. Hotel definitely lived upto expectations. The food was fantastic, we originally booked only one night of dinner bed and breakfast and after the first meal changed the complete booking to DBB. I think this must be the first time ever that we have eaten at a hotel every night, but the food was going to be unbeatable so we changed the habit of a lifetime. The hotel has beautiful views, wonderful service and an warm and relaxed atmosphere helped by the log burning fire in the lounge which smelled great and warmed me up after a long walk on the hills. Highly recommended.

The room being next to the front door was a little noisy especially as others using the Hotel at the time seemed to like letting doors slam rather than shutting them. However the Hotel staff are very welcoming and friendly and the stay was very enjoyable. Service was excellent and we will be going back but just asking for a room upstairs.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - so much that we stayed an extra day - and have just booked to return.
