Directions to Hampshire Inn - Prinsengracht
By car From the airport you follow the signs CENTRUM and you will enter the ringroad A10. You get off at exit S109 (RAI) and take a right at the first traffic light. At the roundabout you take a right again, which now takes you down the President Kennedylaan. When you see the sign Utrecht on your right hand side you turn to the left into the Rijnstraat. You keep driving straight ahead for about 3 km. The street will change names a few times into Van Woustraat, Westeinde, Frederiksplein and finally Utrechtsestraat. As soon as you are in the Utrechtsestraat you will cross the bridge over the Prinsengracht. Here you take a left down the canal and cross one small bridge. After that you will find us at number 1015. When arriving from Utrecht/Breda (A2) you will come to the ringroad A10. Go straight ahead and follow the signs CENTRUM. Then pass the Utrechtsebrug and go straight ahead into the Rijnstraat. From there follow the directions as mentioned above. From the airport Take a train from Schiphol Airport to Amsterdam Central Station and from there take tram number 4 to Prinsengracht (6th stop). Turn right on the right side of the canal (prinsengracht) and after 200 metres you will find us on your right hand side. Or you take numbers 16, 25 or 24 from the Central Station to the 5th stop at Keizersgracht. When you get out of the tram you walk straight ahead and turn left on Prinsengracht. After approximately 200 metres you will find us on your left side. You can also take a taxi from the airport, which will cost around € 35-40 or around €15 from Central Station.

I thought the hotel was very nice and located in a peaceful area. I stayed in a single room that looked out onto the garden with a door that opened into it which would be wonderful to enjoy in summer. |

The hotel was in a great location, very central but also quiet. My room faced the gardens and even though it was tiny (this is Amsterdam!!) the large windows and view meant it felt ok to spend time in. The staff were really friendly and helpful. They hire bikes too so this makes life very easy! I have already booked the hotel for my next business trip to Amsterdam. |

I like this hotel for its great location, closeby to tram stops, shopping and cafes/restaurants. Yet, the hotel is quiet and suits a leisure traveler seeking for some peace and quiet after the day of sight seeing. The hotel receptionist were not only friendly, they were also helpful and attentive. The single room is adequate with little space to move around and quite a serene view of the garden. I would recommend this hotel to a friend for its great location and friendly service. |
