My daughter and I stayed here for one night while we were walking in the Peaks. We found the hotel very comfortable and not too busy. The food was very good and we enjoyed our stay here. We would certainly stay here again.

Everything was excellent - the staff were friendly and polite - the room was clean and comfortable - but the food was second to none! Spent two days walking in the surrounding hills and valleys and enjoyed the hospitality. Would recommend that if you stay you eat from the additional "blackboard" as these meals were to die for! Will definitely stay again if we visit the Peak District.

Room was fine, the shower tiles needed to be cleaned (the grouting in some areas - uurrgh ). Dinner was dissapointing plus very slow service (40 mins for one course) and expensive. We wished we had eaten elsewhere. However breakfast was great hence quality of food got an average mark.

Overall, very good quality - particularly the restaurant. My wife is dairy intolerant and a list of unsuitable menu items was waiting for us when we arrived at our table. This is a very high level of service for food intolerance compared with other establishments. Service was excellent and food quality also. If I have to be picky, the combination of matching patterned wallpaper + curtains in the room was a slight sensory overload.
