Hotel advertised as "recently refurbished". Actually very shabby and in need of much work. Had to go downstairs again to receive remote control for TV. Room had twin beds, but so small don't know where a second person could put suitcase. "Dining room" looked like works canteen - no tablecloths, no service. Help yourself to cutlery, make your own toast. Tea from hot water in thermos jug. Charge of 2 pounds to leave suitcase in office for 2 hours. Both taxi drivers, coming to and leaving hotel, had poor opinion of place. Found much better hotel, with good service and pleasant surroundings at same price (30 pounds) and stayed there for 3 nights. Lynden Court advertises rooms at 50, discounted to 30 or 40 pounds. Not worth it. |

The words youth hostel should be used when booking this so called hotel, from moment i arrived the person on reception tried charging me even more than what i booked it for,we had to pay £20 deposit ontop off the £90 just for the room key.the door to our room had been kicked in at some stage and not repaired well so had to keep all valubles with us.If we wanted to watch the tv another £20 deposit was required for remote control. To sum up this place up, IT'S A DUMP. |

Do not expect anything but a roof over your head - if that is all you expect then you'll be ok. |
