Advertised as a good quality hotel, booked delux room, very disappointed, bed linen torn, shower complete diaster, waited 10 minutes for hot water, then only a trickle, hair dryer faulty. As a family run hotel, same person serving at reception, bar and dinner, although very friendly lacked alot of things. How anyone can justify charging £110.00 per night for a double room that was worth about £30.00 is beyond me. Would seriously recommend "Laterooms.com" review this hotel, does nothing for their reputation ! |

I arrived very late after the chef would have normally have finished his shift however he stayed on and I had a very good meal. At all times nothing was too much trouble for these very friendly hoteliers. The room was very comfortable and had everything you would expect. The hotel functioned very professionally and had a very friendly and homely feel about it. This obviously rubbed off on the other guests as I have never had so many conversations at breakfast. Although I only travelled to the region on business, the scenery, views and sunset were spectacular. If I am ever in the area abain on business or pleasure, I would have no hesitation in staying at Castell Malgwyn again |
