Percys Country Hotel

Really great place and they try so hard to get the details right. Room large pleasant, modern, not really boutique but made up by scrumptious cake, drinks, fruit, dvd etc. Our meal was a bit spoilt due to: Limited choice of only two mains, no canapes as promised, slightly abrupt service due to busy Sat night, lamb served dark red raw, no enquiry about why we both left our lamb. The veg and puddings were wonderful so I suspect that we were a little unlucky and this is the kind of place to go back to, especially when not so busy, although at £40 for such a limited menu in this kind of location one should expect a good standard.

The food was brilliant and it is such a lovely peaceful place. Room was very spacious with everything you could possibly need. We will definitely return.

Upon arriving at Percy's we were met by Annie the black lab! She helped us devour the home made chocolate cake!
Don't know where to start really in describing our one night stay. The price we paid via late rooms was significantly cheaper than booking directly with Percy's. The room was spacious and clean. Kingsize bed, sofa, jacuzzi bath with seperate shower and soft white robes made it feel very luxurious. We walked around a very small part of the estate and saw the horses (they breed race horses), pigs, sheep and chickens. Although it wasn't sunny it was a lovely walk and they also offer the use of wellies. We were accompanied on our walk by Annie and Sophie (the other dog). However, far better than all I have described is the wonderful organic locally sourced food, absolutely faultless. The food was sublime. I cannot rate this hotel and restaurant highly enough.
