The hotel was fine and the room very good. The problems lay in the area of reseraunt management. Guests had to queue for over half an hour to be seated for breakfast because there was insufficeient hot food for the demand and no effective communication. |

We took advantage of a late breakfast which finished at 11.30 a.m. so after a late night arrived at the restaurant around 11 a.m. This was rather bad timing as everyone else seemed to have the same idea and it took over half an hour to get breakfast and be seated! However the breakfast was excellent and on the whole great value for money. Good location for Broad Street restaurants and bars. The rooms are lovely, clean and fitted out to a high standard. Would definitely recommend and stay here again. |

Modern, well positioned hotel with very good, convenient car parking underneath. The hotel was full and very busy. On the plus side, one of the bar waiters was superb - polite, attentive and conversational. The big negative was the chaos at breakfast. The servery just did not work and could not cope with the volume of guests. A long queu formed and people joined it not knowing whether they were queuing for a table or for the hot food. The bread and toaster was badly organised, on too small a table and no plates. Danish pastries were served with the bacon and eggs rather than the bread or fruit! Again, no small plates, so people were using napkins and having to push in to the hot food queu to get a pastry. We made these comments to the retaurant manager and hope that they will make changes as the quality of the food was good and in all other respects we enjoyed our stay in the hotel. |

We travelled to Birmingham by train and did have difficulties locating it. Basically so many exits out of New Street we ended up circumnavigating the station trying to get our bearings. Finally saw the hotel ( quite a tall building!) but couldn't work out how to get to it. Got there in the end. Word of advice head towards The Mailbox! |
