The Columba Hotel lies in the heart of Inverness, directly opposite the Castle, situated on the River Ness and only a few minutes walk to the city's shopping amenities. The hotel was fully refurbished in 2004 and guests now enjoy modern comfort and absolute style blended with the traditional Victorian features that have been tastefully retained. All areas of the Highlands are accessable from Inverness offering fantastic options of things to do (sail on Loch Ness, Whisky tasting at a Distillary, Watching Dolphins swim, Castle visiting etc.).

Breakfast choice was fairly limitedif you did not want a cooked breakfast. Also the restaurant is a fairly dull room for breakfast. Room was great with good views over the river to the castle.

I've stayed here several times and always found it good value for money and very central. The shower did not work on this occasion and the hotel gave me a reduction on my bill when I raised the matter. Car parking is on the street outside and this can be quite busy at weekends.

I felt that the breakfast could have been a bit hotter. I think that when it is a buffet style breakfast, the food is lying out. The hot tins don't stay hot very long. You would be better having a set breakfast where the guests can pick what they want and have it freshly made. There was a good choice of food.
