WOW,Luxury river facing, desirable,individual, boutique and exquisite 4* hotel, chic and contemporary decor.
Excellent food (2 AA Rosette status) and service. Luxury suites, ideal for families, also long term and short term stays, (similar to serviced apartments) two and three bedrooms accommodating from two to six guests, and deluxe double and twin rooms, all rooms are river facing including two river view wheelchair user friendly rooms with hand rails and wet rooms (walk in showers). Spa facilities including hydro-therapy pool and sauna. The Spa is open every day with three treatment rooms.
NEW for Spring/Summer envious river facing huge terrace area ideal for drinks and food.
The hotel operates a non smoking policy in all areas of the hotel. For Smokers we do have a designated seating area outside. Ideally located in historic and evolving Christchurch and only fiteen minutes drive to Bournemouth town centre and Bournemouth Airport. Situated five minutes from the unspoilt Hengistbury Head, local beach and Mudeford Quay. Twenty minute drive to the beautiful New Forest. Free parking onsite and fully air conditioned. We booked v. last minute for this weekend and were given a room much smaller than the previous stays.
We were moved when we requested to be for the second night, it would have been nice to be offered this move without having to ask as we are frequent customers and the smaller room is not worth paying this price for.
Dinner at the restaurant was excellent as always with top quality waitng staff and chefs.
The sauna and pool were clean and well kept, although reports are the bored looking staff dont excel at massage.

We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our stay at The Captains Club.
The staff were all very attentive but not overly so. Our bedroom was huge with fantastic river views.
Food was outstanding and wine choice excellent. Pleasantly surprised at how reasonable the bar and wine prices were.
My husband and I had one night away without our children. We could not have made a better choice.
We have recommended the hotel to some friends who are getting married in Christchurch.

Excellent location, very friendly and efficient service. Good quality, modern clean cumfortable accomodation. Excellent bar and restaurant with waterside terrace.

Unfortunately, a meal delivered to our room was ruined because one leaf of the food table trolley could not be erected - the waiter did not attempt to set up the table, and when an assistant came in response to our call to assemble it, he spent so long attempting it before giving up, that the meal was cold and the whole experience poor. When I checked out, I expected that the hotel would waive the entire meal cost - at the manager's word and only after I raised the matter, they only deducted the price of the heated component of the meal - arguing this point incurred me a delay in check-out.
