Enjoyed our stay very much, but a word of warning. We arrived on a Saturday & unfortunatley we were not warned of a disco on Saturday night. When we retired to our room the noise was deafening. I complained at rececption , to find three other residents doing the same. The Manageress was sympathetic & got the music finished early, but it was after 12.30 before we could retire. The following evening we stayed out later, returning at midnight, only to find we were locked out the hotel. We had to ask a stranger for a mobile phone to call hotel,

The room we had was in the Annexe and overlooked a council estate, no view whatsoever, the Bar food was excellent but breakfast was very disappointing on the Sunday morning, we decided to go at 9.30am and nothing had been replenished, we had a half hour wait for the cooked part of the breakfast and when it arrived it was cold, the tomato had been halved and was raw the potato scone was like leather not good at all for such a popular Hotel. Would eat in it again but don't think we would stay in it

there is a general air of being in a 1960s time warp. What was a very popular hotel is becoming a bit stale and down at heel.
