Orestone Manor

Rock House Lane,Maidencombe, Torquay

Orestone Manor is a small, well appointed, country house hotel on the rural fringe of Torbay. Overlooking Lyme Bay in a setting of distinct Mediterranean charm. Hidden away on the edge of the town, this attractive Georgian country house enjoys stunning views across Lyme Bay and the surrounding countryside. The spacious public areas are elegantly comfortable, with a colonial theme. Individually furinshed and decorated, the bedrooms vary in size and style. Our restaurant holds two AA Rossettes for its cuisine and the hotel is rated as one of the "Top Hotels" by the AA.

The breakfast was outstanding (try the homemade museli) and so was the cream tea with homemade scones, views out to sea and the option of fresh milk in the room instead of horrid UHT. Lovely grand rooms and friendly staff.

Staff could not be more helpful. Very child friendly, however having a room on the top floor when there is no lift makes carrying a child difficult. Food was a delighful surprise - wonderful. Great location. I will definitely come back here.
