Originally built in 1851 as a private gentlemen’s residence, it was sympathetically transformed into a guesthouse in 1947. Acquired by current owners in the winter of 2003, it underwent a stunning £1/4 million refurbishment Accommodation is lavish yet cosy ensuring a comfortable and memorable stay. The standard of lodging and service is undoubtedly the finest in the Lake District. Bowness on Windermere is a picturesque little town perched on the banks of Lake Winderemere. Boasting an abundance of restaurants, shops and attractions it makes for an idyllic retreat. this was our anniversary and the hotel went to great lengths to ensure room was of the highest standards to mark the occasion, and all that i had asked for was put in place , we would stay again without hesitation, walking distance to all amenities.

Car parking is very tight. On departure reported a loose toilet handle + an insecure window handle.
