The room that we stayed in was clean, but lacked space and even a cupboard with doors on it. Although we had a room that overlooked the river, it faced the town square where drinking could be heard till late on Saturday night. We had a room on the top floor, and i can only imagne what guests below us thought about the noise being closer to the pubs and pier. Additionally the traditional sash windows did nothing to alleviate noises on a sunday morning with the garbage collection.
We were left with few options on a Bank Holiday weekend, and booked this one as rooms were rapidly disappearing. We had high expectations of the hotel, but found it to be an outdated pub with a few rooms above it, a mistake we will not be making again. If you want peaceful stay, i would not recommend this, the Fowley Hotel was cheaper and common areas were far more luxurious

Great hotel rooms with fantastic views. Very good breakfast. The parking was a problem having to leave the car in the main car park £9 for 24 hours. There us a very good bus service from near the hotel to the car park every 15 minutes only £1.
