Enjoyed a very pleasant stay in the hotel - located it easily in the middle of Berkeley. The bar and dining room had a lovely atomosphere with huge oak tables, and old artifacts hanging from the ceiling and displayed on shelves. In comparison I felt the room needed a bit of a refurb as it seemed a bit old-fashioned, one of the room lights didnt work, and although we booked a double room, we had 2 single beds joined together with a big ridge going down the middle which was a little bit uncomfortable. The breakfast was fantastic - fruit juices, cereals, toast, fruit, and a full english breakfast. In relation to other hotels in the area, the price was good for what was included and despite being a little disappointed in the room, i would stay here again. |

We had a lovely big room which was the oldest one in the hotel - super big bed and huge bathroom with a very good shower - not easy to find in many hotels. Wendy the owner made us very welcome and the dinner we enjoyed was nicely served and very tasty, even if the service was a trifle slow, but the hotel was busy. The food was all freshly cooked to order. Breakfast was also very good. |

Only the bed let down an otherwise very comfortable and friendly stay. |
