The Hawthorns Bed & Breakfast

The Square Drymen, Loch Lomond

The Hawthorns was built in 1873 by the Duke of Montrose to attract a doctor to the village of Drymen, and for over 120 years it was home to four successive general practitioners. The house has been extensively restored in recent years to convert the 'Auld Doctor's Hoose' into a superior quality bed and breakfast establishment.

All of our bedrooms are carefully decorated and finished to a very high standard, and have en-suite facilities with WC, wash hand basin and shower or bath. Colour Television and tea and coffee-making facilities complete the features, all designed to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

If you are looking for more space you can stay in one of our modern self catering cottage flats adjacent to the B&B.

In the morning a traditional Scottish breakfast is served in the dining room, breakfast is not included for guests staying in the self catering flats. However if you would like to purchase breakfast there will be an additional charge of £5.00GBP per person.

Your will enjoy a warm and friendly welcome at this distinctively Scottish home.

Matt was extremely helpful to us and I'd definitely recommend staying at this B&B. We stayed in the annex and it was fantastic for the price we paid. Lovely walks very close by and Drymen is a beautiful village.

Very pleasant stay. The owner was friendly, welcoming and helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Only bad thing I would say is the room we were in the beds were a bit rickety, might need a bit of work.
