disapppointing that we could not get a drink after 11 pm, not what i thought was acceptable fopr a 3 star hotel, only beer no wine or spirits. spoilt our stay. |

Impressive from the outside initially but not well maintained when went for walk. Ok on inside but our 'superior' room was small and basic. The window in bathroom was tapped up and the shower didnt drain away so had to keep stopping it to let water level fall! |

It is a very nice place - lovely location, the castle bit really interesting and quirky and has HUGE potential. Although relatively small the room was pleasant and relaxing and clean when I arrived. BUT - even though staff were happy to put right the problems as they occurred, they hadn't a clue how to do it right initially - probably didn't even understand why I might have been complaining. The General Manager was nowhere to be seen. The Duty Managers were very young and one wondered at their experience. The waiting staff in the restaurant all pleasant but clueless. Nothing quite worked effectively or efficiently. Having booked via Late Rooms for 2 nights and confirmed with the hotel on arrival, my room wasn't cleaned or the room service tray removed after the first night as they thought I was leaving after one night (even though I was a ttending a 2 day course being hel in the conference facilities). The service received for the course was also sadly lacking - water coolers running out of water, tea/coffee arriving late and without milk etc, insufficent lunch being served fr 90 people and so it goes on! |

Our room was very small, we had to climb over the bed to get to the mirror and the window. I dont think it is suitable for double occupancy. If I stop again I would as for a room overlookign the gardens at the back. Apart from that Brilliant . |
