Stayed in the family room with wife and 2 small children - was actually 2 rooms seperated by a door which was a welcome surprise. The room was very basic but comfortable with clean linen and we all had a great sleep.
The room was pretty tired and could use some TLC - neither TV worked, phone didn't work, shower door handle hanging off. We reported the faults to reception and they were worse than helpful, actually saying 'that's why the room was cheaper.' - can you believe that! At least say 'Sorry, we'll look into it' and then do nothing - that way the guest will feel slightly better.
Breakfast arangement is not great. The tables are actually round bar tables and are too low and too small for dining use. There is plenty of food which is is of a good standard, but the lone waitress couldn't be more disinterested if she tried.
Saying all that all 4 of us had a good rest and the hotel is in a nice location and we all left feeling relaxed and well fed.

I have stayed here several times, after trying one or two other more expensive hotels locally. The staff are helpful, cheerful and extremely welcoming. The location is great as it is within walking distance of one or two very good restaurants. Some of the rooms may seem a little dated but they are clean, comfortable, nice bed linen, fluffy towels and some have lovely views of the river. The food is very good too, and we had a hearty english breakfast, served buffet style. They have a new retaurant opening soon, and I look forward to returning for another stay.

I was very late arriving (1:30am) after a long drive. The receptionist was expecting me. She very kindly and quickly got the administration completed and showed me where my room was. The room was simple but adequate with clean bed sheets and towels. The breakfast in the morning was a standard buffet and I was impressed that they served good quality sausages and bacon. An ideal hotel if you're on business and you need a place to put your head down for a few hours with some good food to recharge.
