I booked for 4 nights, and received a warm welcome on arrival. From there it all went wrong. The toilet that wouldn't flush without being pumped half a dozen times (told by the owner that all UK toilets were like that...), the windows that wouldn't open more than 2 inches, the hot tap that filled half a bowl then went to a dribble, the dinner (a lamb pie where the meat was badly trimmed, and chips that were white and uncooked) and the huge amount of traffic noise from the main road running by the window were bad enough. However, when an alarm went off at midnight for 20 minutes, I had a great deal of difficulty getting hold of the owner at reception, and was stunned to be told off for not "phoning the special number for night calls" which was supposedly in the room, then being accused of waking her baby and frankly insulted in a way I've never experienced before as a paying guest. At 12:30am, I advised I'd be checking out the next morning and thankfully found vastly better accomodation at a hotel down the road in Betws-y-Coed. |

I visited wales for a relaxing weekend and the meadowsweet hotel was just the ticket. was made very welcome on arrival and was advised to book a table for evening meal, as it gets very busy as it is open to non residents, and the quality of food was first class, the waitress service was excellent and very friendly and efficient. the hotel has recently been refurbished, to a very high standard, unfortunately our room still need refurbishing but was still one of the cleanest i have stayed in. car parking was good, and the location couldnt have been better for visiting snowdon and all the local attractions. will be booking again very soon.! |
