The past in the present
Hotel Villa Gasparini is an 18th century mansion that well reflects the splendour of the golden age of Riviera del Brenta. The owners of this demesne, the Gasparini family, were originally from the Orient.
The building has been painstakingly restored, retaining all the original features of its historical and artistic heritage, including the traditional Venetian terrazzo floors, made from coloured marble chips ground with crushed stone and stucco, the 18th century gilt-wood window pelmets, and the ceilings with the original exposed beams.
Distant echoes from the Orient that had such a strong influence on Venetian style can be seen in the marquetry of the inlaid wood mantel and the partitions of the lobby.
The Hotel is located in Dolo, one of the town along the Riviera del Brenta just 15 km from Venice and Padua.
Numerous villages are scattered across the Riviera del Brenta and along the river itself, villages that date back to the XVII and the XVIIIcenturies, and that are full of history, art and culture.
The refined summer mansions built over the centuries by the nobles of Venice have been the real witnesses of the history of the Riviera and today they are considered a typical feature of the river banks. The villas also house numerous masterpieces belonging to Italian and Venetian art.
In this area cultural and folk events take place all the year round. A few examples are the carnevale degli storti in February, the regattas in May, the summer shows held in the villas and the procession on water in September.
