Welcome to The Marstan in Torquay, Devon. An imposing boutique Victorian villa, we are proud to be one of only three Torquay establishments to have received a five star guest accommodation rating, (guest accommodation is not the same criteria as hotel rating which is based on facilities). A detached 1850 villa, we are situated in the beautiful quiet conservation area of Torquay, minutes on foot to the blue flag Meadfoot beach and its wonderful coastal walks, yet only a ten minute stroll into Torquay's bustling harbour and town centre. We provide sumptuous comfortable surroundings with a sense of occasion in a welcoming and unpretentious atmosphere with strong emphasis on personal yet unintrusive customer service. Our bedrooms are appointed to a high standard with all of them refurbished in 2006/2007. The majority also benefit from brand new luxury en-suites. In summer our guests enjoy the heated swimming pool and a piping hot open-air spa, in the winter you may choose to relax in our cosy bar. For business travellers we have wireless internet access, fax facilities and can offer an early breakfast (continental from 0730 hours). **NON SMOKING ESTABLISHMENT THROUGHOUT**

» Coming from Exeter, follow the A380 towards Torquay.» At the junction of A3022 follow the signs for the Sea Front.» When you reach the Sea Front make a left turn onto Torbay Road.» Follow Torbay Road to the second roundabout. (this is just past Debenhams) and make a left at this roundabout onto Babbacombe Road.» Make a right turn at the next traffic light onto Meadfoot Road.» Meadfoot Road becomes Meadfoot Sea Road.» Our hotel is on the right hand side just 3 minutes up the road. Just look for the black and gold sign.

The owners are very friendly and make you feel welcome the moment you walk into the hotel. Nothing is too much and the food is mouth watering. Our expectations were defiantly exceeded and you can see they have taken the time to go that extra mile to ensure your stay is an enjoyable one. Our room was of a very high standard along with the rest of the hotel decoration and furnishings. If you want posh, you got it but in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. Thank you so very much, we will be back in the summer to take a plunge in the pool and a dip in the hot tub. Top class. xxx

Lovely small five star hotel. excellent quality room, bed very comfortable, wonderful quality sheets. Breakfast was excellent and the service was faultless. There was a pool and hot tub which we were unable to use due to the weather. Great positon for walking to town or coastal walks. If i have any negative feedback it would be the fact that there was a bar but on returning at 10.30 it was closed. We did however order drinks by room service which was no trouble. Dont book thinking this has the atmosphere of a hotel as it is either a very good quality guest house or very small hotel. I did also pay more booking on late rooms than i could have through their own website.
