rate for breakfast was far to high. They had a band playing in the restaurant and it did not stop until 11:30pm. I was very tired and could not go to sleep. it would be good if events like this would be mentioned on your side. They offered me to put me up in a different room but I could still hear the music and the restaurant.

We booked a luxury spa room on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis. After booking through Late Rooms the Hotel very quickly e-mailed to provide further details and check to see if we wanted anything in the room such as champagne or chocolate. On arrival the hotel was very impressive from the outside in a lovely position. Parking was no problem for us although if the hotel is busy the reception did say they normally ask for the guests to leave their car keys in case people are blocked in. We checked in quickly and were shown to our room which was very impressive. The decor was lovely, clean and suited the style of the premises. We had a hand written note left in the room and hand made chocolates. The spa bath was fantastic and had a remote control which allowed us to switch the settings with out moving! Coffee was served to our room and we could have requested the same for breakfast the next morning.
The bar was very elegant and the service through out was great. The meal was lovely with the frozen berries with hot white chocolate sauce for pudding being the star of the show. My only (very small) criticism our whole stay was that we had a restricted menu with only two choices for each course as we booked a dinner, bed and breakfast deal. Saying that though the food was very very nice and the service excellent.
The turn down service was very welcome and on returning to our room we were greeted by calming music coming from the Cd player. We would have had a lovely nights sleep in the Josiah Strachan room if we hadn't have been disturbed by a couple of noisy guests at 5a.m. - but this was no fault of the hotel. Breakfast was again lovely.
All in all a fantastic hotel, lovely surroundings, decor, food and service. We would definitely stay again.

This is a really lovely hotel, the standard of service was very high,as was the decor. The room we stayed in was a luxury double, there were hand made chocolates on arrival and a note from the owner, the bed was lovely with feather pillows and quilt, towelig robes and a spa bath .Each time we left the room and came back the maid had been in and tidied, clean towels each time they were used and a bed turn down service,I really could not fault it, the attention to detail and service was excelent. The hotel is being refurbished and will be ready in Feb 2009 but this didnt affect our stay or the service we got.I have to say that although the hotel is being refurbished it is in no way shabby now! We will definately re visit next yearas the plans for the hotel are to havea pool and a spa and to upgrade the decor to an even higher quality than it already is.The town centre is about a ten minute walk.I would really recomend this hotel especially if you are looking for luxury and quality service. The Morgan was a treat to see and if you fancy a day out in it with a luxury hamper for a special treat then definately go for the day package £199.
