Service and food were very good. My only complaints are :- 1) Poor room quality/decor especially the carpet which did not fit the room and was laid on top of another one(presumably so no floorboards would show). 2) There was no shower in the en suite. There was a shower head connected to a tap/mixer but once it was raised above tap height the cold water stopped flowing (lack of pressure)which made the water too hot to use.

To be honest I dont have anything good to say about this place only that the staff were really friendly and went out of their way to assist.
First of all it is literally in the middle of nowhere and quite a drive out to 'civilisation'. The place on the outside and even downstairs in the lounge and reception area are fine but the quality of rooms is appalling. Their £100 rooms has fixtures coming away from the wall, cracks all along the walls and ceiling, wallpaper peeling away from the walls, furntiure that is just plain shoddy, carpets coming away from the floor.....need I go on. To be honest the standard of the room is of one I would expect at a place like Blackpool not from a £100 a night establishment. All I can say that after viewing their website in real life the place is not as it appears on the pictures.

We received a very warm welcome at Reception upon our arrival and our cases were carried up to the room. We found the bar very pleasant and the service good. There is also a nice lounge to sit in with magnificent views. Dinner was excellent with a reasonable choice, although there did not appear to be much choice at breakfast and a full english was presented without us asking for it. I would definitely watch out for that again.
The room was very disappointing. We had booked a superior ensuite double and there was nothing superior about it at all apart from the lake view. All in all it badly needed refurbishing. The decor was poor with paper beginning to peel off the walls and the furniture was rickety to say the least. I did not feel that it was anything like value for money and spoiled what would otherwise have been a very pleasant stay. However, I would recommend it again once the planned refurbishment has been completed. It is a very deserted place and the blood pressure drops as soon as you get there.
