There’s no better place for a great hotel break than the Hurtwood Inn, an atmospheric 1920’s country inn standing at the heart of the perfect English village of Peaslake. Less than an hour from central London, close to the M25 and historic Guildford, yet located in a quiet village more suited to John Nettles’ “Midsomer” or Dawn French’s “Dibley”, the Hurtwood Inn is ideal for business requirements, that special romantic break, celebration or anniversary weekend, or even a short action-packed walking or mountain-biking holiday.
The Hurtwood is ideally placed to explore some of England’s most beautiful countryside, such as Leith Hill Tower (the south of England’s highest point, with breathtaking views), the National Trust houses of Polesden Lacey and Clandon Park, RHS Wisley, England’s largest vineyard, Denbies, and the historic city and excellent shops of nearby Guildford, Surrey’s County Town. Curiousity shops and olde worlde shopping abound in nearby Shere – location for “The Holiday” starring Jude Law and Kate Winslett. Back in the hotel, you’ll find a welcoming fire, luxurious individually-designed ensuite bedrooms, and great food, wine and real ales in our restaurant and in the popular Hurtwood Bar.
PLEASE NOTE: The Hotel's Bar and Restaurant are currently undergoing refurbishment, however a temporary bar and restaurant will be in use during this time. The Bar is expected to reopen on 5th February and the Restaurant on 20th February.

FROM GUILDFORD: Take the A25 from Guildford Town Centre towards Dorking. At Gomshall, turn right at jet filling station towards peaslake and continue for approx 2 and a half miles. The hotel is in the centre of the village and can be found by turning right at the village shop. FROM DORKING: Take A25 from Dorking heading towards Guildford. Travel through Westcott, Wotton and Abinger. At Gomshall, turn left at the Jet garage and follow the directions as from Guildford. FROM M25: Leave Motorway at J10 (Guildford A3). Leave A3 at Burpham and join A25 at Merrow, heading towards Dorking. At gomshall, turn right at Jet Garage and follow instructions as from Guildford.

Located in a lovely little village but not ideal for business travel, I booked it based on distance, what I didn't realise is that to get there it was mainly single carriage way so took longer than expected. Free WiFi a bonus. Room was clean but a little weary, could do with updating but saying that I slept like a log. Staff are lovely and friendly, I arrived very late without time to shower before dinner so they brough me room service free of charge, a nice touch! As it was so late I only had soup and a roll, was lovely but curried parsnip is not everyones taste for soup of the day. Food was quite expensive and menu is limited and a little bit fancy for what I wanted after a day at work. All in all a reasonable place if a little expensive at £64 for a single bed. Management Response Our hotel is frequently used by business travelers. The hotel can easily be found if travelling from Dorking or Guildford, using normal directions as a sat nav can sometime lead you down track roads.

The shower in the bathroom has passed its best and needs replacing. Not pleasant to use! The TV in the room was old and small and I was not confident that it was electrically sound? The picture quality was extremely poor! Thye funny thing is that this hotel has charm, the hotel staff are very helpful with the food being excellent. I would give this hotel one more go!

Down stairs was very nice, regarding my room this was to say the least very tired and needs an up date. The shower was poor, as was the TV. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Food very good, the cost of the room at late rooms was acceptable but my room is certainly not worth the suggested £80. NOT EASY to find
