We had stayed at Airth before, so knew it was a nice hotel.
Good deal for DB&B through Laterooms. Nice leisure facilities, kids liked them, good pool/sauna.
We checked in 20 minutes after allocation time, and once my card had been charged, I was then told no rooms were ready ! ( amazing when room service were at our door at 0830 the next morning)
Dinner package only gives allocation for £19 pp, so you may have to top this up, food is very good, if minimalistic. We dined on the Sunday evening, and there was less than a dozen guests in the restaurant.
Our room was on the ground floor, and the window was shut but not locked, so anyone outside could have pushed it open and easily gained entry to the room, I found this odd and rather suspicious.
30 Nov was a Christmas party night, 180 guests, mostly drunk woman, and as they retired for the evening from midnight - 2 am the noise past our room was unacceptable.
The fire alarm went off at 1 am, then again at 1.20 am, our kids were in a state of panic due to the very loud noise.
The alarm was initiated from the same bedroom, due to someone smoking, but at the time we were told it was 'hairspray'.
It was total chaos, no-one seemed in control.
In the morning, without prompting, we were offered £50 off our bill.
If you have young kids, avoid the party nights, you WILL be disturbed.
I realise the hotel must generate revenue, and they will make a lot of money from party nights, but a hotel must allow guests to sleep, without compromise.
On going to bed at 10.30 pm, I should have known from the receptionist's comments that we were about to be disturbed later that evening. It obviously happens all the time.
The hotel staff on the whole are friendly and efficient.
There are many good things about Airth, but some fundamental things need to be sorted out.

The Customer Service was excellent, always being asked if everything was to our satisfaction. We were in the Four Poster Castle Room, which made it a pleasure to come back every evening from a day out sight seeing. The breakfast was self serve which made it easier to take what, and how much, you wanted. There was enough variety to satisfy everyone. We booked Dinner, B&B, which meant the evening meal was more restictive in choice than those paying seperately. but was still very nice food. The Spa Commplex was everything you needed to relax, Pool, Sauna, Steam Room, Sunbed and Gym. There are a lot of choices of Hotels around this area, but would recommend you look into Airth Castle before making a decision. The only thing you have to be wary of is that when you're booking, you're more likely to be put into the Resort building rather than the Castle itself, so check this first if it's the Castle you're after. On saying that, the Resort rooms are more modern and closer to all the amenities and we would probably choose one of these next time.

We managed to get a fabulous twin room (suite) just recently re-furbished in the newer part of the hotel - It was lovely!!! This may have been because my friend phoned beforehand requested a re-furbished room as we knew the hotel was in the process of being renovated. Excellent value for the money we paid with Laterooms. Thankyou.
My only compaint was the smell (whilst it was beautiful the smell was very noticeable as soon as you walked into reception), it smelt like sweat and was worse in certain corridors (rooms okay). I don't know if they had a problem with their airconditioning or if it was the candles they were burning or the glues being used as part of the refurbishment, but the smell was quite bad in some areas.
We were also offered a room in the castle itself but downstairs... it was refurbished but getting to it through old not yet refurbished corridors was not nice. I believe this will be a beautiful hotel when renovations are complete.

Bedroom smelt humidity and mould. Very bad (weak) lights/lamps. Having carpet in a hotel bathroom is disgusting. Very long and poor service at the restaurant (35mn to get toasts at breakfast), quality of food below average and too fancy like watermelon with.... icecream for starter ?!
