GRAND SEIGNEUR HOTEL

First of all, they acted as if they were doing us a "big favor" accepting our reservation from Late Rooms (they kept trying to say that they didn't have a reservation in our name). They were so booked up that the only double-bed room that they had was some type of extra room that they never use except in "emergencies" (so they said - though they still charged us full price!). The only thing nice about it was the view (top of the hotel) and the matress (pretty comfy). Otherwise there was no A/C, not even a mirror in the bathroom, the hot/cold water was reversed, our towels were miniature and falling apart at the edges, the TV was from 1985, and so forth. Apart from the room, the service was excellent. The concierge even went to bring my car from the train station parking lot (oh yes, you should know that the hotel is just behind the tracks!) to the hotel (I got a bit lost and just continued on foot). The other rooms in the hotel looked quite cute from the pictures, but, overall, this hotel is far from being worth the price they charge.

I recommend it to any active traveller. At the first - it's location! Less than 5 min from tram, Sirkeci station, or about the same Gülhane station; you can see from window Sirkeci railway station (most simple way to Yenikapi ferry-boat station, if you want to go to Bursa). And any look-of-worth object is at the walk distance. But print a Google map with yourself to find the hotel for the first time!
Personal is very kind, just ask.
If you are looking for large rooms, look another district: be ready you will have 1 m spare place around your bed. But as we came here just for sleeping it was more than enaugh. Bed - quite large for my long legs, but a bit squeaky. Ladies, don't forget to take hair shampoo with yourself! It wasn't possible to close fully shower's hot water, but it had the light side - the floor in cabin was allways warm, so we did'nt complain! Five o'clock morning sounds from mosques was well heardn, but they was wery appropriate there, really! But street sounds we didn't notice, top floors are good for it. And what a sight to railway side! But remember - if you have the sight from your number, you will have no balcony! (as I saw, maybe i'm wrong). So mind it before you choose! If anybody has problems with climbing, avoid high floors - I didn't get how to manage lift button till the leaving! As we were too lazy to wait the first lift ride was the last.
Breakfest... tiny room, but never overcrowded... and for food - a bit of everything was there. Everything tasty. I even can't say what to add... fresh juice, yeah... but you can get it on the street so cheaply.
And don't afraid to leave couple lira for room-maker at your bed! :)
