This is a great hotel, a bit out of the way but worth the journey. Friendly staff and great food. |

Stayed for two nights in Aug 2008, and was really very happy. Little niggles stop it from being a 'six' across the board, for example, most of the service was excellent, but a couple of times little things were missed like dressing gowns not in the room, forgot to bring toast to breakfast table on our first day. The food was very good, but maybe a little too fussy and the occasional odd jus that seemed to have been added more for colour than flavour. The bathroom sinks look excellent, but the silly plugs sling water at you if you turn the tap on above a dribble... I'm being picky though because, overall, it was very close to being a 'six'. The new owner seems committed to pulling it up to scratch, and I feel sure he'll get there soon. I'd be very happy to go back and I would heartily recommend this hotel. |
