Hotel Select

A nice hotel, near the Termini station (strategic) where you can access by bus, subway or turistic bus all the spectacular sites in rome and vatican city... the food is okay, a nice italian breakfast.... and the customer service is very very good

Very close to the termini, handy for the underground. My room was clean but small as a single room. Ideal for a short stay.

Customer service was good, breakfast pretty good relative to other italian hotels. The hotel has a good location near to Termini, the train station, however it is in the area to the right of Termini which I felt was slightly less safe than nearer the historic centre - I would not stay here if I was on my own or with another girl, but as I was with a guy i felt okay. Only other gripe is that i felt the price of the room was a bit high for what we got (rather small double room for 70 pounds/100 euros) - have been back to rome & paid less for larger room in more central location. I would probably recommend it for someone who wants to stay near the train station but be aware of the negatives described above (safety, value for money).

The hotel is very near to Termini station ( around 300 m, three road on the right when coming out of the station, on the bus Piazza side), hence very easy to get to and from airports, especially late at night and early in the morning.
Nicolas, the receptionist is very funny and relax. He was very kind and wake up at 4 am to make us breakfast ( very basic breakfast, but hey! he wake up at 4am, which is impressive by itself).
Despite its location, the hotel is very quiet and safe. The rooms are clean and warm ( in winter). The only thing I didn't like was the showers without curtains or door, meaning flooding the place every time we had a shower. Also, no satellite Tv, therefore, expect to be bored by Italian chat shows if you are a TV addict).
The breakfast is better than in other hotels and and taken in a nice covered internal court- green house); it doesn't contain hot food ( no cooked breakfast) but had enough to keep you going for the morning ( cereals, bread, croissants, cheese,salami, yoghourts, milk, coffee, tea, fruit juice, jam, marmalade).
