Having recently stayed at Le Manoir both the rooms and the service were equally as good. As far as the food is concerned it was out of this world. The finest carvery meals we have ever had. Spoilt for choice on all courses. Highly recommended for both the quality of the rooms and the food. All of the staff were youngsters but certainly knew how to welcome visitors and deal with them in a friendly manner. |

The exterior of the hotel is very picturesque and oldy worldy but the inside had been refurbished to an excellant standard. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable with a reasonable sized on-suite bathroom and shower. Although the room was advertised as inclusive of a safe this was not obvious. There was plenty of parking available with pleasant gardens where you could eat outside when the weather permitted. A laptop was available for personal use at no charge but when I asked to use it the battery was flat; a mains lead was eventually provided. The only real downside noted is that the bedrooms are divided into blocks separated form the hotel. This could unpleasant at meal times if the weather was inclement. There are castle ruins and a church built in 1073 across the road from the hotel. The nearby village of Steyning is very picturesque with flint built properties and a thatched cottage. |
