A exquisite 18th-century Georgian Country Manor House Hotel, hidden away within its own wooded valley, close to the magnificent North Cornish coast - providing the perfect location from which to explore the delights of Cornwall.There is a choice of eighteen bedrooms and suites - all tastefully appointed and equipped to high standard. All rooms offer individually controlled central heating, beverage tray, colour television, radio, hairdryer and en-suite facilities as a minimum. Master bedrooms feature four-poster or half-tester beds whilst the Rose Suite offers a four-poster bed, separate sitting-room, spa bath, walk-in shower and some special touches!The Valley Restaurant overlooks the rosebeds and lawns to the woodland beyond and offers an extensive menu and we endeavour to source locally-produced foods whenever we can. We stayed there for 3 days and had a really weird room with sucha tiny window that we had to switch the light on at daytimes. The room itself and the service at breakfast was not different to the B&B we had before for a third of the price. The plughole in the bathroom still consisted of the hair of the last stayer. and on the next day, there was no new toilet roll on the rollholder, as it was empty before, the tissues were missing and now towels have been provided anymore. If you don't take the breakfast like an early bird, you will wait, if the hotel is booked for around half an hour to finally get your breakfast. We have to say, that we didn't have dinner there, which seems to be very good In the end of the day, I have to say, that for £130 a night including breakfast, we expected much more than this.especially if you compare it with other hotels in the UK and London. We don't really know how they justify this price for a standard room. For us it was not even a little bit better than a B&B. A shame, because it is situated very very nice in this tiny romantic village.
